Breakwater MembershipLevels:
New Membership A $250 one time assessment fee in addition to the yearly Membership fees will be charged for any new Individual, Family, Supporting or Sustaining Memberships. This also applies to any former Members who have let their membership lapse. This does not apply to Junior Members or those converting Junior Membership to Adult Membership at age 18.
Supporting Membership - $500 - Includes annual membership fee plus a tax deductible funding of 1 Jr. Scholarship
Sustaining Membership - $1000. - Includes annual membership fee plus a tax deductible funding of 3 jr. Scholarships
Family Membership $250.00/year* Family Membership is for two adults residing at the same address and includes all children under 18 (Each individual applicant/Renewing Member must sign application).
1st name on application will be designated primary voting member when joining as family.

*A "One-Time Assessment" of $250 will be charged for any new adult membership. This will also apply to any former member who does not keep an active membership from year to year.
| Membership with Dock privileges: Breakwater membership plus $85/year, entitles members to use BYC’s dock. Members may tie up at the north end of the dock for a maximum period of ½ hour (except during hours of Junior Sailing School, at this time tie ups are strictly prohibited) and on the west side of the dock for a period of 3 hours. Overnight tie-ups are strictly prohibited. Under no circumstances shall BYC be liable for any damages while members or guests use the waterfront facilities or docks. |
Membership with Dinghy privileges: Breakwater membership plus $175/year, entitles members to use of the JY15s and optis. $200 security deposit is required on each usage. An adult 18 or older must be in the boat at all times. Boat usage is weekends only July 5th thru Labor Day. |
Membership with Catalina privileges: Breakwater Adult membership plus $350/year, entitles adult members to use the Catalina, JY15s or Optis. $500 security deposit is required on each usage. Boat usage is weekends only July 5th thru Labor Day. |

**"Dues shall be due and payable on the 1st day of January in eachyear except in the case of the acceptance of a new member, in which eventdues in the amount of the Membership dues shall be due and payable upon theacceptance of such membership. New Members shall thereafter pay Membershipdues on the 1st day of January in each year following their membership inthe Club. Members who have not paid their dues or other amount withinsixty (60) days after they shall be due and payable, or shall fail to payany other amount for which they may become liable to the Club, shall beautomatically deemed delinquent." Breakwater Yacht Club Inc., a 501 C 3 corporation founded in 1988 is a community sailing club located on Bay Street in Sag Harbor, New York. Breakwater's primary focus is on its' Racing and Youth Sailing programs. As for this year, BYC has a newly constructed clubhouse to call home.
Breakwater Yacht Club Inc. is always looking for new members who are interested in the sport of sailing and sail boat racing. whether young or old, neophyte or seasoned skipper, female or male. It doesn't matter, as long as your desire is to sail.
The foundation of our Racing Program is our Wednesday Night Series which runs form June to the beginning of October. In addition, we have the May Cup series and Sah Harbor Cup regatta. Sundays, we have JY15 one design racing. To enter and be scored for the May Cup, Wenesday Night Series and JY15 Series, one must be a membeer of Breakwater.
Our Youth Sailing Program is exceptional and thriving. Over the past 13 years Breakwater Yacht Club Inc. has put more than 2,500 students through this program. This includes 50 - 60 per year by scholarship to local children. Youth sailing is available to kids as young as 9 years old and one need not be a member of BYC to participate.
We are very proud to truly be a grass roots community organization. One which consistently reaches out to the residents of Sag Harbor and surrounding communities. Not only with our Youth Sailing Scholarship Program, but also with other significant events both past and present, such as the Race Against Drug Abuse and the Adventure Sail Regatta. Breakwater is a great sailing club and we would like to share it with other "sailing" minded individuals. We welcome your applicaton for membership.
