BYC has now completed the building of it’s COMMUNITY SAILING CENTER and is ready to serve the growing needs of the area by providing stimulation and companionable sailing activities as well as instruction for adults and juniors. BYC is a non-profit, non elitist organization which is reasonably priced and open to everyone with an all inclusive approach to membership. BYC’s Wednesday night races often have 30 or more local boats on the starting line between May 1st thru October 1st providing exciting and varied courses for the novice or expert sailor.

Breakwater Yacht Club Sailing Lessons
Adult Sailing - Group and Private Lessons
July and August 2011
The BYC will be again offering group sailing lessons to interested adults. The series will be four consecutive Saturdays starting July 9 from 9:00 - 11:30 am. Students will be learning on JY15s and/or a 22' Catalina.The cost is $400. Classes will also be offered in August, tentatively also scheduled on Saturdays. Although club membership is encouraged, it is not a prerequisite nor is previous sailing experience.
In addition the Breakwater is offering private lessons for 1 - 3 adults on the Catalina, and later this month, on the newly donated Soling. Ed Osias is the Head Adult Instructor and initiated this new club service last summer to rave reviews. Below are the rates:
One Hour Two Hours Three Hours
One person $ 75 $150 $225
Two people $100 $200 $300
Three people $125 $250 $375
To ask questions, to arrange a private class or to reserve a spot in the group lessons, please call Ed directly at 631-728-8711. A credit card is required to make a reservation with a minimum charge of $50 for a non-weather related cancelation of a private lesson within 24 hours.
