AdventureSail 2011 Registration
AdventureSail® is a nationwide program of the Womens
Sailing Foundation, a 501© 3 organization, for at-risk young
girls. Each event is tailored to the host facility. Our event is sponsored
by the Town of Southampton and hosted by the Breakwater Yacht Club.
Local At-Risk Girls between the ages of 10-15 serve as "crew members" on sailboats, and participate in a race in Sag Harbor. The race lasts
approximately 1-2 hours. This type of activity exposes the girls to
new sporting experiences and fosters self-esteem.
After the
race, the participants will gather at the Yacht Club for and "After-Race"
party, and awards ceremony.
A select
number of Breakwater sailing school scholarships will be available to
the participants (which normally cost over $300)
