Adventuresail is an event chartered by the National Women’s Sailing Foundation, sponsored by the Town of Southampton and hosted by the Breakwater Yacht Club, where local At-Risk Girls between the ages of 10-15 serve as “crew members” on sailboats, and participate in a race in Sag Harbor. The race lasted approximately 1 1/2 hours and managed to avoid the rain.

This type of activity exposes the girls to new sporting experiences and fosters self-esteem. After the race, the participants gathered at the Yacht Club for and “After-Race” party, and awards ceremony.A select number of Breakwater sailing school scholarships will be available to the participants (which normally cost over $300)
